Bio

Michael Ross studied with Richard Wilson and Todd Crow at Vassar College where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Composition and Piano Performance. During his time there, he won the Jean Slater Edson Prize in Music Composition, and his senior recital included Janacek’s In the Mists and Copland’s 4 Piano Blues. After completing his degree, Michael moved to Chicago and spent eight years teaching at Old Town School. He was an instructor for private piano lessons and Music Theory, teaching adults and children. Michael also co-created and taught the Beginning Kids Group Piano curriculum, now one of the most successful programs at Old Town School. Upon his return to New York Michael started his own Piano program, joined the faculty at Lucy Moses School, and continues to compose and perform in New York City.
